The Yangtze River and East Dongting Lake Ecological Protection Education and Research Center of Central South University of Forestry and Technology (CSUFT) was established in Yueyang recently. Persons-in-charge of CSUFT and the Yueyang Forestry Bureau unveiled the nameplate for the center.

In the Next five years, CSUFT College of Forestry will collaborate with the East Dongting Lake National Natural Reserve administrator to carry out scientific and technological exchange. They will establish a new system of production-education-research cooperation in the aspects of talent cultivation, sci-tech research and innovation, and technical consultation, and also join hands in wetland conservation, and monitoring and protection of wildlife and their habitats.

The center is established to advance practice of the thought on ecological progress “making all-out efforts to protect the ecological environment of the Yangtze River, and forbidding large-scale development of the river”. It will combine the participators’ wisdom and strength, to make new contributions to the ecological environment improvement of the Dongting Lake.
