Contributing 30% of Foreign Trade Within 0.06% of Area

The Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Industry Promotion Conference (Shanghai) was held in Shanghai on November 5, leveraging the 9th China International Import Expo. The Changsha, Yueyang, and Chenzhou areas each showcased their strengths, finding partners, projects, and application scenarios in Shanghai.

Tan Haoran, full-time deputy director of the Hunan Free Trade Office, summarized the defining features of the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone with "three hubs": a pioneering hub for opening up and bold experimentation, a hot investment hub with solid industries, and a treasured hub for business that values commerce and reassures businesses. He noted that Hunan is eagerly looking forward to the implementation of more high-quality projects and the deployment of high-end resources.

The Changsha area mainly promotes the Changsha Free Trade Valley, which focuses on biomedicine, digital industry, cross-border trade, and the digital economy. It will safeguard enterprise development through pioneering institutional innovation, direct policy delivery, specialized public services, transformation of scarce resources, and full-lifecycle services.

The Yueyang area highlights the China-Africa economic and trade industrial chain. Leveraging the "four zones, one port, and five ports of entry" platform, the geographical advantages of the Chenglingji Port , and the integration of industry, processing, and trade with Africa, the area is gradually carrying out a dual-platform cooperation path with Africa under the "Yueyang headquarters + Africa base" model.

The Chenzhou area highly recommends its full non-ferrous metals industrial chain. Relying on the advantages of "resources + production capacity + clusters," the area has gathered over a thousand enterprises across the chain and has been approved to establish a national digital transformation promotion center for the non-ferrous metals manufacturing industry. It has also implemented a three-year action plan to improve quality and efficiency in the non-ferrous metals industry, building up the four major industrial chains of copper, silver, lithium batteries, and tungsten-bismuth.

Prologis China has located its central China regional headquarters operation base for aviation logistics in the airport block of the Changsha area. A spokesperson said, "We value not only the location and transportation but also Hunan's determination and action in opening up as an inland province and connecting domestic and international markets." The company will actively cooperate with the construction of the national "six networks" and work hand in hand with Hunan to grow and thrive.

Since its establishment more than six years ago, the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone has produced 135 institutional innovation achievements, seven of which have been replicated and promoted nationwide. With less than 0.06% of Hunan's area, it contributes 30% of foreign trade and 20% of foreign investment to the province.
