Showcasing "5C" advantages to deepen opening-up and cooperation

The Hunan-Europe Investment and Trade Fair was held in Germany and Switzerland from October 27 to November 1 local time. The fair systematically promoted Hunan's investment environment, extended an invitation to European political and business circles to "Invest in Hunan," and reached preliminary cooperation intentions on multiple matters.

The Hunan delegation held the Hunan-Germany Economic and Trade Collaboration Meeting in Wolfsburg, Germany. Representatives from more than 20 German enterprises and institutions attended. The Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone made investment presentations. Hunan enterprises such as SANY and BODA, as well as German company Flexoo, conducted on-site roadshows, with all parties engaging in in-depth exchanges on cooperation intentions.

At the concurrently held 10th German-Chinese Automotive Congress, the delegation communicated with executives from Volkswagen Group, Clavey, Flexoo, and other companies, exploring collaboration in such areas as automotive parts supply and flexible electronics applications. Spokespersons of Flexoo and other companies expressed their intention to visit Hunan for project discussions.

Liu Suyue, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, introduced that in 2004, Bosch Automotive Products (Changsha) Co., Ltd. became the first German-funded enterprise to settle in Hunan. Over the past 20 years, its output value and sales have grown nearly 40-fold, and the number of its employees has increased tenfold, with a cumulative investment of over 320 million EUR. The company president publicly stated, "Bosch's investment in Hunan was a very correct choice." Currently, more than 37 well-known German-funded enterprises, including Volkswagen, Schaeffler, and BASF, have taken roots in Hunan. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the revenue of German-funded enterprises in Hunan surged 117%.

The Hunan-Switzerland Special Matchmaking Conference on Biomedicine and Artificial Intelligence Industries was held in the Canton of Schaffhausen, Switzerland, establishing a platform for two-way investment and cooperation. Hunan enterprises such as Zoomlion and Wasion, along with more than 20 Swiss enterprises, research centers, and universities, attended the conference. Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, and representative enterprises from Hunan engaged in matchmaking discussions with attending merchants, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions on multiple matters.

Why have so many European companies been able to grow well and develop quickly in Hunan? The Hunan-Europe Fair systematically promoted Hunan's "5C" advantages for serving foreign-funded enterprises from five dimensions. The "5C" refers to Cost (cost advantage), Consumer base (market potential), Cluster (industrial ecosystem), College (education and research advantage), and Convenience (international supporting facilities). Hunan sincerely invited more European companies to visit and invest in Hunan.

"Hunan is willing to provide European companies with solid industrial support, open platform carriers, and attentive service guarantees," said Deputy Director Liu. She added that Hunan will continue to expand cooperation channels with Europe, improve post-event follow-up service mechanisms, and advance the implementation of intended projects, making the "Invest in Hunan" brand take deeper root in the European market.
