China’s civil aviation industry entered the 2020 winter and spring flight season starting from October 25. In the new season, Hunan airports plan to increase the number of flights to 5,371 per week, including 5,282 domestic ones. Among them, there will be 3,874 domestic flights available at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport, an increase of 13.4% from the same period last year. The number of domestic destinations will be increased to 99.
There will be a sharp increase of the number of international and regional cargo flights. The number of weekly international and regional cargo flights at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport will increase by 26.0% over last year’s winter and spring flight season to 30 or more. These cargo flights are bound for Anchorage, Seoul, Lige, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Chennai, and Hong Kong.
Changsha Huanghua International Airport will improve the air route structure. The daily flights from Changsha to Beijing and Shanghai will increase to 20 or more, an increase of 28.3% and 24.1% respectively. There will be more Changsha-Beijing Daxing and Changsha-Shanghai flights. Over 7 wide-body aircrafts will be operated to Beijing daily to make travel more comfortable. The number of domestic destinations will increase to 99. New destinations include Beijing Daxing, Cangyuan, Lincang, Wenshan, Dazhou, Hechi, Wanzhou, Xinzhou, and Fuyang, offering passengers more travel choices.
The local aviation will play a stronger role. In this new season, the province’s local airline-- Hunan Airlines will increase the number of flights departing from Changsha to 4 per day. It plans to operate flights from Changsha to such destinations as Chengdu, Kunming, Wuxi, Lijiang, and Cangyuan.
