The launching ceremony of the 2020 Changsha Food Safety Publicity Week was held in Tianxin District, Changsha on June 22. The theme of this year's publicity week is “esteeming virtue and abiding by the law; food safety makes life better”. Zhang Qinghe, vice chairman of the CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee, director of the Changsha Municipal Food Safety Committee Office, and director of the Changsha Administration for Market Regulation, attended.
In 2015, Changsha was approved to pilot national food safety demonstration city construction. In accordance with related requirements, Changsha has adopted a problem-oriented approach and made bold explorations in the aspects of regulation concepts, working system and treatment measures. It has also strengthened responsibilities, deepened comprehensive governance, and promoted social co-governance. Food safety management and guarantee has been lifted to a higher level. Food safety situation has been continuously improved. The public support rate for the national food safety demonstration city construction was 99.81%, the awareness rate 79.74%, and the food safety satisfaction rate 85.82%. Changsha has been rated as a provincial food safety model unit for four consecutive years.
