Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met with Rafaravavitafika Rasata, minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar, and her entourage in Changsha on June 14, 2025.
Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests. The delegation came to Hunan to attend the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE). Secretary Shen noted that the numbers of participating countries and enterprises, exhibits, and China-Africa cooperation projects signed at this year's CAETE are the highest ever, achieving a complete success. Hunan is willing to work with Madagascar to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state, focusing on the "China-Africa 10 Partnership Actions" to deepen exchanges and cooperation. Both sides may collaborate in culture and tourism, education, agriculture, energy and power, infrastructure construction, science and technology, and economy and trade, to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, contributing to the China-Madagascar comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Minister Rasata thanked Hunan for the warm reception. She remarked that Madagascar and Hunan share a solid and profound foundation of cooperation, with fruitful results achieved in agriculture, medical care, education, and other fields, which deeply benefit the people of Madagascar. She hoped to strengthen cooperation with Hunan and jointly implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, delivering greater benefits to the peoples of both sides.
Also attending were the provincial leaders Zhang Yingchun and Qin Guowen, as well as Madagascar's Ambassador to China Jean Louis Robinson.
