Tourism Boom Continues in Zhangjiajie After Spring Festival Holiday

Zhangjiajie has maintained popular though the Spring Festival holiday came to an end. Hordes of tourists are seen in the scenic spots around the city.


The Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park was crowded with tourists on February 18, the first day after the Spring Festival holiday. Tianmen Mountain has received a total of 21,000 tourists on that day, basically in line with the daily average figure during the holiday. The park has continued to carry out the measures during the holiday to provide convenience to tourists, including opening three round-trip cableway routes; staggered real-name appointment; intelligent entrance procedures; and, earlier ticket sales period.


We specially chose to visit Zhangjiajie after the holiday to avoid travel peak, said a tourist, adding that they had visited Tianmen Mountain and enjoyed its magnificent landscapes. 



The 72 Unusual Houses in Zhangjiajie has attracted crowds of tourists at night. The distinctive Tujia stilted buildings were illuminated by colorful lights, attracting nearly 20,000 visitors for sightseeing and taking photos.



Tourists appreciated lanterns, folk performances, and specialty snacks in the scenic area, experiencing the strong festive atmosphere of Tujia New Year. Some tourists dressed in Tujia costumes, posing for fashionable photos against the background of the spectacular Unusual Houses.


It is estimated that the tourism boom in Zhangjiajie will last until the Lantern Festival on February 24, fueled in part by the Zhangjiajie Lantern Fair held during that time.
