The 2023 Changsha International Tourism Destination Promotion Fair was launched at the HB (Changsha) Film Town on October 12. With cities and enterprises brought together and various promotion activities organized both online and offline, the fair aimed to help Changsha build itself into an international tourism destination.

The fair is a sub-activity of the second Changsha Tourism Development Conference. It is comprised of six theme activities, namely an event featuring "Millions of Tourists Visiting Changsha", a face-to-face order-placing meeting among travel agents from major tourist sources of Changsha, a cultural tourism new consumption fair, a "Changsha Night" concert, a health morning run, and an observation of cultural tourism projects. The fair was attended by representatives from Southeast Asia, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Guizhou, Hubei, Jiangxi, and other major tourist sources of Changsha, as well as cultural tourism associations, travel agents, OTA platforms, and other institutions from across Hunan.

At the launch ceremony, Changsha's cultural tourism recommenders presented six new travel routes, namely a red tour, a natural landscape tour, a citywalk tour, an industrial tour, and a study tour for cultural inheritance. The Changsha Association of Travel Agencies signed a contract with nine alliance travel agencies in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to introduce 200,000 tourists to Changsha. It contracted with representatives of travel agency associations and travel agencies from Hubei, Jiangxi and other provinces across the country to attract 500,000 tourists to Changsha. It also reached an agreement with the Hunan Association of Travel Services to introduce 300,000 tourists to Changsha. Thus, a strategic cooperation on attracting one million of tourists to Changsha has been achieved.

A tourism trade fair was held on the afternoon of October 12. Buyers and sellers had ten rounds of targeted negotiations and a round of face-to-face free negotiations. They conducted in-depth exchanges on business cooperation and product development, and jointly opened a chapter of cooperation on mutual promotion of routes, resource sharing, and mutual exchange of tourists.

The cultural tourism new consumption fair showcased intangible cultural heritage items, cultural and creative fashion products, and other speciality products of Changsha. Offline experience spaces such as pressure relief and camping were specially created, allowing guests to get a first-hand experience of the new business formats, new ideas, and new experiences in Changsha's cultural tourism sector.
