Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, successively presided over two meetings via video link on the morning of October 25, 2022. At the meetings, he consulted about and assessed the current COVID-19 epidemic situation in Shaoyang and Huaihua, and planned and arranged the anti-pandemic work via scientific and targeted means in the next step.

He asked Shaoyang and Huaihua to follow the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress; put the people and their lives first; give full play to the political and organizational functions of the Party organizations; and, strengthen leadership and deploy the best resources, to race against time in combating the novel coronavirus and winning the battle of epidemic prevention and control, and resolutely protect the life and health of the people. We should loyally support the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and firmly uphold Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and uphold the Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership with pragmatic actions and effective results, he added.

Provincial leaders Li Dianxun and Xie Weijiang participated in the meeting at the main venue in Changsha while Qin Guowen at the sub-venue in Shaoyang.
