Themed “Maglev Transport Technology Innovation and Application”, the 2017 International Maglev Forum was held in Zhangjiajie on December 8. Well-known domestic and international experts from the United States, Germany, Russia, South Korea, Japan and other countries attended. They had academic exchanges on maglev technology innovation and industrial application, maglev technology future trends, maglev and urban transport compatibility issues.

The forum was organized by the Hunan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the National Maglev Traffic Engineering and Technology Research Center; and co-hosted by the Hunan Rail Transit Holding Group Co., Ltd., the Hunan Magnetic Levitation Technology Researcher Center, and the Zhangjiajie Transport Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. More than 200 representatives from over 70 research institutions, universities, and business communities from home and abroad attended.

The industrialization achievements of the Hunan maglev transportation engineering, represented by the Changsha Maglev Express, were presented at the forum. In last May, China's first domestically designed and manufactured magnetic levitation line started commercial operation in Changsha, becoming a new identity card of “Hunan Intelligent Manufacturing”. At present, Hunan has initially planned 8 maglev levitation lines including the Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Project, Zhangjiajie Project, and the Changsha Xiangjiang New Area Project.
