The 2024 Qianlong Lake Dragon Boat Invitational Competition went viral across the internet, becoming a phenomenal topic in domestic dragon boat circles. After two years, Wangcheng District seizes the opportunity to host the Wangcheng Station of Hunan Dragon Boat Super League Qualifying Round, continuing the popularity of dragon boat competition. The local authority has issued invitations nationwide to call on dragon boat masters from all over the country to gather at Qianlong Lake, competing together and rekindling the bond of dragon boat camaraderie.

According to the latest data from the organizing committee, a total of 28 dragon boat teams have completed registration and are in the document review process for the Wangcheng qualifier. There are four teams from outside Hunan Province, eight from other cities and prefecture provincewide, and 16 from towns and townships in the province. In accordance with the competition regulations, the winning teams of this selection event will advance directly to the provincial finals of the 2026 Hunan Dragon Boat Super League.

The 2026 Changsha (Wangcheng) Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Experience Season will be hosted simultaneously during the competition period. In addition to the opening ceremony and the main dragon boat racing contests, local cultural and tourism resources of Wangcheng District will also be blended, including features such as Dragon Boat Festival folk market, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and water leisure activities, to create a new integrated model of "sports events + folk culture tourism + rural consumption."

Currently, preparations for the event, venue setup, and logistical support are all progressing steadily. On June 13 and 14, residents are welcome to attend the dragon boat racing spectacle and experience the unique charm of traditional dragon boat culture up close.
