2024 Hunan Summer Rural Cultural Tourism Festival

The 2024 Hunan Summer Rural Cultural Tourism Festival and the 2024 Hunan Summer Village Gala Demonstration Showcase will take place in the Changning Yinshan Scenic Area in Hengyang City between July 22 and 24, according to a press conference held in Changsha.

The theme of the festival is "Land of the Workers' Movement, Changning Impressions." The organizers will focus on the goal of promoting brand-building, experiences, integration, consumption, and revitalization. In addition, the organizers will take the festival as an opportunity to fully tap cultural tourism resources to promote high-quality development of Changning’s rural cultural tourism sector. Efforts will be made to encourage positive interplay between culture and tourism, forging the soul of the city with culture, and bolstering the cultural tourism sector through festivals.

The festival will feature an array of events in the form of "2+5," namely, two theme activities and five serial activities.

The theme activities include:
-- the opening ceremony of the festival to be held on the evening of July 22; and,
-- a promotion conference on cases aimed at boosting rural revitalization via rural tourism. 

The village gala demonstration showcase will bring the joy of farming to the audience through displays of the following local characteristics: the taste of Changning; Changning woodblock painting and opera; Yinshan, Shuikoushan, and Tiantang Mountain; and, red or revolutionary culture, ancient culture, healthcare, and idyllic rural life. 

Activities also include expedition tours to Changning; a Changning cuisine tasting; a country music concert; a Weiqi or Go invitation tournament; and, an exhibition of Changning woodblock paintings.

The festival is jointly hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Hengyang City.
