The Hunan Music Relics and Stories Exhibition opened at the Hunan Museum on July 28. The exhibition combines physical musical relics with digital display technologies to create an active text and an audio-visual feast of musical civilization.

The exhibition brings together 170 pieces of music-related collections in Hunan Province, showing the development course of Hunan's music culture. Various digital display technologies are adopted to integrate cultural relics, musical sounds, figures, literature, history, and images that are related to Hunan music.

The exhibition was planned to showcase the achievements of a project included in the 13th Five-Year Plan National Key Research & Development Initiative. The project, titled "Research and Demonstration of Key Technologies of Cultural Relics Exhibition Based on Knowledge Graph", was undertaken by the Hunan Museum, the Tianjin University and the Beijing Baidu Netcom Science And Technology Co., Ltd.

The exhibition will run until October 30. During the period, the Hunan Museum will launch various activities, including an online concert themed Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day, music and dance performances at exhibition halls, online talks with masters, and on-site expert lectures.
