Nearly 4,800 Foreign-funded Companies Expand Investment in China in H1

BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Almost 4,800 foreign-funded enterprises made additional investments in China in the first half (H1) of 2026, reflecting their continued confidence in the Chinese market, Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong said on Thursday.

The number of newly established foreign-invested enterprises rose 5.3 percent year on year during this period, while foreign direct investment (FDI) in actual use totaled 402.14 billion yuan (about 59.22 billion U.S. dollars), Yan told a press conference.

The country's foreign investment structure continued to improve, with FDI in high-tech industries surging 33.2 percent year on year.
