On June 10, the main structure of the first lock chamber of the Changsha Comprehensive Hub Third-line Ship Lock on the Xiangjiang River was topped out, marking a key breakthrough in the civil engineering work for the project's main structure. The project is being built by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Fourth Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. As a crucial part of the Class I waterway from Changsha to Chenglingji on the Xiangjiang River, the project is Hunan's first of its kind that can accommodate 3,000-tonne vessels. The project has now completed 245,000 cubic meters of concrete pouring (accounting for 56.7% of the main structure), with overall progress reaching 68%. It is now proceeding in an orderly manner into the metal structure construction phase. (Photo/Tong Di, Hunan Daily)
