On May 18, the Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Event of the "Regional Tours for Transnational Corporations to Assist High-Quality Development—Gathering in Hunan for Win-Win Cooperation" was held at the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone. Representatives from numerous transnational corporations held in-depth discussions with Hunan-based enterprises and relevant government departments on topics such as industrial synergy and investment cooperation.
At the conference, executives from transnational corporations shared their visions for cooperation, noting that they had gained a more comprehensive understanding of Hunan's industrial strengths and business environment. They expressed hope to further strengthen ties with Hunan-based enterprises and to expand opportunities for collaboration. "We are optimistic about Hunan's unique advantages in culture and tourism," said Fred Zhou, president of China Hospitality at MGM Resorts International, proposing areas of cooperation such as joint development of high-end hotels and the international promotion of cultural and tourism IP.
From May 17 to 20, the "Regional Tours for Transnational Corporations to Assist High-Quality Development—Gathering in Hunan for Win-Win Cooperation" Event was held in Hunan. A delegation consisting of executives from transnational corporations such as Panasonic, MGM, Citibank, Dow, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Rio Tinto, ArcelorMittal, Starbucks, the South African logistics firm BUFFALO, along with Vanessa Tsin-Jie Li, ambassador of Suriname to China, and representatives of foreign NGOs in China, are conducting field visits to Changsha, the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Zhangjiajie, and other cities. They will exchange views on cooperation and common development with Hunan-based enterprises and relevant government departments.
The event is a key initiative by the province to proactively strengthen the "six-pronged coordination" in foreign affairs, foreign trade, foreign investment, foreign economic cooperation, international publicity, and foreign expertise. The goal is to serve China's overall diplomatic deployment and to develop Hunan into a hub for reform and opening up in inland regions. The event will further advance exchanges and cooperation between transnational corporations and Hunan, injecting new momentum into the province's high-quality development.
