The photo, taken on March 9, shows a staff member sorting crayfish hatchlings and adult crayfishes at the aquaculture base of an ecological agriculture company in Jinggang Town, Wangcheng District, Changsha. Leveraging expertise support by the College of Fisheries of Hunan Agricultural University, the Hunan Fisheries Science Institute, and Wangcheng Agricultural Science and Technology Park, this company has innovatively adopted a "single-season rice and triple-season crayfish" coculture model. Meanwhile, it regulates and controls the crayfish growing environment through adjusting well water temperatures, achieving earlier supply and later delisting of crayfish from the market. The aquaculture base, spanning over 600 mu (about 40 hectares), produces nearly 100,000 kilograms of crayfish annually, with an annual income of over 2 million CNY.
