
A press conference on Hunan Province's foreign trade in 2025 was held on January 21. It announced that the province's total import and export volume reached 541.41 billion CNY in 2025. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the figure has exceeded 500 billion CNY, representing a 10.8% increase compared to 2020, the final year of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020).
Multiple sectors in foreign trade have reached new milestones. In 2025, Hunan's automobile exports passed the 30-billion-CNY mark for the first time, reaching 33.84 billion CNY—a 26.8% year-on-year increase. The number of exported electric vehicles surpassed 100,000 units for the first time, surging 128.2% year on year. The number of enterprises with actual import and export performance exceeded the 9,000 threshold for the first time, reaching 9,113, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%. Among them, export enterprises surpassed 8,000 for the first time, reaching 8,124, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the number of import and export declarations and the volume of goods under customs supervision by the Changsha Customs Authority increased by 32.2% and 98% respectively compared to the 13th Five-Year Plan period. These figures not only reflect the dynamic vitality of Hunan's foreign trade but also highlight the province's steady and far-reaching progress in opening up.
