The 4th International Summit on BDS Applications kicked off in Zhuzhou, Hunan on September 24. Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang stated that President Xi Jinping emphasized that the BeiDou system benefits not only the Chinese people but also the people of other countries. Having undergone 31 years of development, the BeiDou system has provided global services since the BeiDou-3 Global Navigation Satellite System was officially commissioned in 2020. Its service capabilities have been comprehensively enhanced, and its applications have been extensively expanded, making the BeiDou system a vital new infrastructure serving users worldwide. Vice Premier Ding added that in the years to come, China will focus on building a world-class global navigation satellite system and further upgrading BDS technologies, functions and services. These efforts will enable BeiDou to empower various industries and sectors and serve everyday life, better promoting economic and social development and meeting the people's desire for a better life.

Following the opening ceremony, Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang toured the exhibition area of the summit, where he observed the large-scale application of the BeiDou system in key sectors and industries.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Madagascar delivered a speech.

Wang Zhijun, deputy secretary-general of the State Council, attended the event. Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, delivered a speech, while Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, presided over the ceremony. Attendees also included Ahsan Iqbal, federal minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives of Pakistan; Tomás do Rosário Cabral, minister of State Administration of Timor-Leste; and, Sérgio Hornai, minister of Justice of Timor-Leste. Xiang Libin, deputy minister of the National Development and Reform Commission, delivered a speech.

Under the theme "One World, BDS with You—Smart Connectivity Across Time and Space," the summit is jointly hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments, along with the People's Government of Hunan Province. Approximately 800 participants, including domestic and foreign government officials, corporate executives, scientific and technical personnel, and representatives from international organizations, attended the opening ceremony.
