Hunan's exports of agricultural machinery surged 109.5% year on year in the first half of this year (H1) to 420 million CNY, said the Changsha Customs Authority on July 30, 2025.
Hunan exported 110 million CNY of agricultural machinery to Germany in H1, an explosion of 130-fold increase. The figure accounted for 24.9% of the province's total agricultural machinery exports, making Germany one of the most promising overseas markets. Demand for Hunan's agricultural machinery products continued to grow in the Indian market, with exports increasing 2% in H1 and accounting for 10.8% of the provincial total. Hunan's exports of agricultural machinery to Indonesia gradually increased, with exports growing 64.2% in the first half of the year.
Changsha and Loudi remained key hubs for agricultural machinery exports of Hunan Province. Changsha's exports of agricultural machinery climbed 241.4% to 260 million CNY in H1, accounting for over 60% of Hunan's total agricultural machinery export value, with its continuously expanding advantage of industrial agglomeration. Loudi's exports of agricultural machinery reached 100 million CNY, up 23.4% and accounting for 24.7% of the provincial total. Agricultural machinery made in Shuangfeng County of Loudi gained international recognition.
Hunan's exports of agricultural machinery showed steady growth in traditional categories and explosive expansion in specialty categories. For example, motorized lawn mowers suitable for lawns, parks, or sports fields became a "dark horse" in export. The products gained prominence in the international market thanks to their high efficiency and adaptability, whose exports skyrocketing 1,238.8% in the first half of the year. Exports of grain processing machinery performed steadily, while those of tobacco processing and manufacturing machinery grew significantly, with exports rising 273.7% in H1.
