The 2025 Report on Comprehensive Competitiveness of Towns in China was released recently. Hunan's three towns were included in China's top 100 towns with comprehensive competitiveness and eight towns were made the list of Central China's top 100 towns with comprehensive competitiveness. All the 11 selected places were from Changsha.

The report revealed that in China's Top 100 Towns ranking, Huanghua Town of Changsha County has risen five places from last year to 30th; Yong'an Town of Liuyang City ranks 66th, advancing two places compared to the previous year; while Dongyang Town of Liuyang City secured the 84th position.

The notable rankings in Central China's Top 100 Towns list are: Huanghua Town (1st), Yong'an Town (2nd), Dongyang Town (3rd), Huangxing Town of Changsha County (44th), Beisheng Town (46th), Dayao Town (83rd) of Liuyang City, Jiangbei Town of Changsha County (86th), and Wenjiashi Town of Liuyang City (94th).
