Recently, 5,712 kilograms of ice cream were exported to Saudi Arabia in refrigerated containers after passing quality insepction by the Changde Customs Authority. This was the first time that Hunan's ice cream was exported to the Middle East.

A spokesperson of the exporter, Hunan Meilun Food Co., Ltd., said that the exported ice cream was delivered via cold chain logistics at -18 degrees Celsius. It took only 15 days from the factory to the supermarkets in Saudi Arabia, so that the fresh flavor could be preserved to the maximum extent.

Since ice cream delivery has high demand on transport efficiency and temperature control, the Changde Customs Authority has opened up a "green channel" for cold-chain food exports. Enterprises can schedule the inspection time in advance, enabling customs officers to conduct goods sampling and testing immediately upon production completion, thus reducing the customs clearance time to less than two hours. According to customs statistics, Hunan Province has exported 13,200 kilograms of ice cream so far this year.
