Huang Yang, director of the nephrology department of the Yueyang Central Hospital, won the fifth place in the finals of 2024 JUMPSTART Renal Nutrition Therapy Research Program. He recently received the written notification of honor from Fresenius Kabi, a global healthcare company in Germany.  

Huang was Hunan's first medical professional honored in such international competition in this field. 

The finals of JUMPSTART Renal Nutrition Therapy Research Program are professional competitions for kidney diseases held worldwide. In 2024, Huang's research on Effects of Compound Alpha-ketoacid Supplementation and Exercise on Sarcopenia Patients undergoing Maintenance Hemodialysis stood out from over 110 research proposals worldwide, being awarded in the finals. His solution was acclaimed by the judges as innovative, forward-thinking, and highly feasible.
