Jiang Difei, vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, recently led a delegation to visit Thailand and Vietnam. The tour aimed to thoroughly implement the spirit of Xi Jinping Thought on Foreign Affairs, the central conference on work related to neighboring countries, and President Xi Jinping's relevant instructions made when visiting Vietnam. The delegation carried out a series of economic and trade negotiations and project matchmaking activities, actively deepening Hunan's foreign exchanges and cooperation.
The Hunan delegation visited the Chinese embassies in Thailand and Vietnam respectively, as well as the Thai Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Department of Rail Transport, Chiang Mai Province, Pathum Thani Province in Thailand and Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, National Authority of Tourism, Ministry of Health, China Cultural Center in Hanoi and other government departments in Vietnam. They held talks with Chiang Mai University, Bangkok Hospital in Chiang Mai, CP Group of Thailand, Yeah1 Group of Vietnam, and other companies and organizations in these two countries. The delegation inspected the Confucius Institute of Chiang Mai University and the China-Thailand Railway 4-3 project, and attended the cultural tourism promotional events in Thailand and Vietnam, with the theme of "Welcome to Charming Hunan." They also witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between Hunan-Thailand and Hunan-Vietnam associations.
Vice Governor Jiang noted that Hunan is culturally similar with both Thailand and Vietnam with strong people-to-people exchanges, enjoying complementary industries and broad prospects for collaboration. Hunan Province looks forward to accelerating the establishment of long-term mechanisms for cooperation with Thailand and Vietnam; taking development interests as a link; accurately meeting regional demands; and, promoting in-depth partnerships in such fields as culture and tourism, medical care, media, film and television, environmental governance, and rail transit. These practical initiatives will advance the building of a community with a shared future with neighboring countries.
In particular, we will take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam as opportunities to enhance tourism facilitation, create special cross-border tourism routes, and jointly write a brand-new chapter of China-Thailand and China-Vietnam cultural exchanges and cooperation, he added.
