The 2024 International School Sport Federation (ISF) World School Basketball Championship concluded in Macao, China, on July 2. China Girls' Team 1 beat the France Girls' Team 72-65 to claim the championship.

Among the China Girls' Team 1 roster, eight players were selected from Changsha's Yali High School, including Zou Yitong, Dai Yaxuan, Hu Ruiyan, Fu Yuxi, Xu Ziqi, Zhou Jingyi, Zang Xinyan, and Ma Zihan. Peng Lijun served as the team's head coach and Wang Yajie as assistant coach. China Girls' Team 1 successively defeated Türkiye, Greece, Saudi Arabia, China's Hong Kong, and France.

In recent years, Yali's Women's Basketball Team has won the championship at many national basketball competitions. Some players of the team have been selected for the national youth basketball team and the national basketball team, representing China to take part in international competitions. In August 2023, Yali's Women's Basketball Team defeated Mongolian Girls' Team to win the title at the finals of the U18 Women's Basketball Game of the 2023 East Asian Youth Games which was held in Mongolia's capital Ulaanbaatar.
