Governor Mao Meets with CEC Chairman Rui Xiaowu

Mao Weiming welcomed Rui Xiaowu and his entourage to Hunan to attend the First International Summit on BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) Applications and the 2021 World Computing Conference. Governor Mao thanked CEC for its long-term support to Hunan. He said that in September last year, President Xi Jinping visited Hunan and encouraged Hunan to build the "Three Highlands" and fulfill "Four New Missions”, and charted the course and set a vision for the building of a modern new Hunan. Hunan started early in electronic information industry and has obvious advantages in human resources and technology. Especially in recent years, Hunan has followed national strategies and intensified efforts to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies such as integrated circuits. A computing system with Feiteng CPU, Kunpeng CPU and Kylin operating system at the core is formed.

Hunan and CEC have a good foundation for cooperation. A number of cooperative projects such as Changsha CEC Software Park and Shaoyang Special Glass are progressing smoothly and have achieved remarkable results. It is hoped that both sides will give full play to their respective advantages, deepen cooperation in digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, and cybersecurity, accelerate basic research and scenario applications of computing capability and algorithm, and help Hunan achieve sci-tech self-reliance. Hunan will continue to provide high-quality and efficient services for CEC’s development in Hunan.

Rui Xiaowu said that Hunan's electronic information industry has a good foundation, and is rich in technology, talents, and resources, and it is in a strong development momentum. CEC will make active efforts to integrate into Hunan's Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, increase the deployment of projects, technologies and resources in Hunan, and deepen cooperation between the two sides in the fields of data security, data governance, and data applications, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
