Changsha Enterprises’ Online Sales Volume Reaches 7.33 Bln Yuan During 2021 National Online Shopping Festival

The one-month long 2021 National Online Shopping Festival ended recently. More than 200 enterprises in Changsha participated in the festival, generating online sales volume totaling 7.33 billion yuan, the Changsha Commerce Bureau announced on February 24.

In accordance with the requirements of the Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Commerce on Launching the 2021 National Online Shopping Festival, the Changsha Commerce Bureau has organized 2021 National Online Shopping Festival Changsha series activities since January 20. More than 200 enterprises participated, including e-commerce platforms, manufacturing enterprises, large shopping malls, and specialty catering enterprises. In order to stimulate consumption, enterprises launched such promotional activities as e-coupons, discounts, seckill, and special offers to meet the public’s needs to buy Chinese New Year goods.

As of February 18, the festival’s online sales volume in Changsha reached 7.33 billion yuan. Over 10 enterprises’ online sales volume exceeded 100 million yuan, and more than 50 enterprises’ online sales volume exceeded 10 million yuan. A large number of enterprises saw surging online sales, including Xingsheng Youxuan, Hunan Suning, Better Life and Hunan Gome.

Among the online New Year goods, traditional New Year goods and daily necessities such as grain, oil, food, beverage, tobacco and alcohol accounted for the largest proportion--more than 50%. Leisure snacks, tobacco and alcohol, dairy products, meat, fruits and vegetables ranked top in sales volume. Household appliances, audio equipment and daily necessities sold well. Meanwhile, healthy, green, intelligent, innovative and upgraded products enjoyed greater popularity among shoppers.
