The 18th China Animal Husbandry Expo (CAHE) and 2020 China International Animal Husbandry Expo will take place at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center from September 4 to 6, according to a press conference held recently. The expo will cover an exhibition area of nearly 140,000 square meters and attract more than 1,200 exhibitors.

CAHE has been successfully held for seventeen sessions. It is the largest livestock show in Asia and among the world’s top three of its kind. This year the expo has the largest exhibition area, and the largest number of booths and exhibitors. It will focus on production resumption to guarantee supply and improved efficiency to benefit the people. A total of 6,500 booths will be offered and diplomatic envoys in China invited. It is estimated that more than 150,000 people will participate.

The expo will feature the entire industry chain of domestic and foreign animal husbandry, including livestock and poultry, veterinary drugs, vaccines, animal health products, feed companies, environmental protection, manure treatment equipment, biomass energy companies, and animal husbandry integrated service. An "Online CAHE" will be launched to alleviate the impact of the COVID-19 on the sector.

"This time we choose Changsha as the venue because the local government provides strong support, and the city has first-class exhibition environment and high-quality service teams." Yang Ping, director of the convention and exhibition department of China Animal Agriculture Association. Yang added that high-end forums will be held to exchange views on transformation and upgrading of the sector, including:
--6th Global Broiler Industry Symposium;
--6th China Animal Husbandry Industry Commendation Conference;
--China Animal Agriculture Association Biological Industry Branch Founding Conference and the 4th China Animal Husbandry Biotechnology Conference.

In light of the fact that Hunan's crayfish industry’s development has been hindered by the epidemic. A "Crayfish Festival" will be held to stimulate domestic demand and help companies overcome difficulties. More than 20,000 kg of crayfish will be purchased and served on site free of charge.
