The 2020 Hunan Summer Rural Cultural Tourism Festival opened at Dahuayao Scenic Area, Longhui County, Shaoyang City on August 26.

The festival includes opening ceremony and art performances; Huayao culture experience at Chongmudang Village; Huayao wedding banquet; and First Hunan Mountain Vacation Tour Forum, to fully present Longhui’s rich cultural tourism resources and unique Huayao folk customs.

At the opening ceremony, Huayao girls dressed in traditional costumes and sang folk songs. Wonderful Huayao folklore performances won applause from the audience. An intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall was specially set up to showcase folk culture and enable visitors to try their hands at making handicrafts.

The festival is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Shaoyang Municipal People’s Government.
