The Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture held the “Thousands of Villages Selling Hundreds of Western Hunan Products” e-commerce live stream on the evening of June 29, 2020. As a city/prefecture-level event of the 2020 Hunan-Yangtze River Delta Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Week, its opening ceremony was held in the Xiangxi Economic and Technological Development Zone on the same day. Thirty e-commerce livestreaming rooms were arranged on the spot, and 100 livestreamers promoted over 300 kinds of Xiangxi characteristic products through 10-odd platforms such as Buy Together and Baidu. The products, including Xiangxi bacon, Fenghuang Ancient Town ginger candy, kiwi fruit preserves, and snow tea, were sold to the whole country, with a total sales value of 1.55 million yuan.

The promotion week, from signing via the Internet to selling via livestreaming, has comprehensively promoted the digital transformation and upgrading. Through online and offline combination, relying on the advantages of Internet platform, it has gained increasing influence. Snack Video, Baidu, Buy Together, and other e-commerce platform APPs provided online support for the event, allowing more consumers to learn about the special agricultural products in Xiangxi through the live streaming rooms.
