Hunan established an online public employment service platform – the “Hunan Employment” (“湘就业”) amid the COVID-19 epidemic. During its first 48-hour operation, it had got shared on WeChat Moments by 820,000 users. As of April 3, its Mini Program “湘就业” received over 10 million visits.

The platform was opened to the public on February 26. It was deployed by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee’s COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Leading Group; and developed by the Hunan Department of Human Resources and Social Affairs, the Changsha Bureau of Human Resources and Social Affairs, and Tencent. Based on big data technology, it provides free service for Hunan enterprises and job seekers during the epidemic, aiming to increase matching efficiency of labour resource supply and demand and facilitate enterprises’ resumption of work and production.

By April 3, 1,377 enterprises offered 100,200 jobs in 2,949 posts on the platform. The platform has 69,600 registers, and received 43,100 résumés. Beyond that, 38,200 users made calls on the platform to apply for jobs.

The posts cover 19 sectors, such as finance, education, mining, construction, manufacturing, transportation, and wholesale and retail.
