On July 22, the Changsha Customs Authority held a press conference on imports and exports of Hunan Province in the first half of 2025 (H1). Changsha Customs Deputy Commissioner Xu Xiaojie presented the statistics.

Hunan's imports and exports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) increased 16.3% to 49.82 billion CNY in H1, according to a press conference on Hunan's foreign trade held on July 22, 2025. ASEAN secured its position as Hunan's top trade partner.

Hunan's trade partners continued to diversify. In the first half of this year, Hunan's trade with Africa amounted to 28.99 billion CNY, an increase of 7.6%. The scale ranked eighth in China and topped the central and western regions. Driven by the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, the province's trade with Africa surged 68.2% in this June alone.

Hunan's trade with Middle Eastern countries climbed 11% to 18.12 billion CNY. This growth has positioned the Middle East as a significant trade economy for the province, now ranking after ASEAN, Africa, and the European Union.
