The signing ceremony for a project invested by Beijing Nowogen Technology Co., Ltd. (Nowogen), a leading enterprise in the hydrogen energy industry chain, took place in Changsha on March 26. As per the agreement, about 1 billion yuan will be allocated to establish a hydrogen fuel engine system and cell stack production and R&D center in the Ningxiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Hydrogen energy is an integral part of the country's energy system for the future, with a focus on producing hydrogen from renewable energy. Nowogen specializes in the R&D, production, and sales of fuel cell stacks, and its products are mainly used for new energy heavy trucks.

The Nowogen project will be committed to the R&D and production of the country's highest-power hydrogen fuel cell stacks, which can meet the needs of long-distance heavy truck drivers. The first phase of the project will build 240KW hydrogen fuel cell stacks and 200KW engine system production lines, with an annual output of 1,000 sets. The second and third phase will add extra fuel cell stacks and production lines to increase the annual output to 4,000 sets and 10,000 sets, respectively. After the project is put into full operation, the annual output value is expected to exceed 3 billion yuan.

Nowogen Chairman Ouyang Xun said that Nowogen will play its leading role in the hydrogen energy industry chain, introduce projects related to the industry chain to settle in Ningxiang, and contribute to the development of Hunan's hydrogen energy sector.
