Hunan Releases Key Investment Attraction Projects for 2023

The Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, together with the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, recently released a list of 218 provincial key investment attraction projects for 2023, with a total investment of about 624.776 billion yuan. These projects cover four major areas: infrastructure, resource products, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and featured advantageous industries.


In terms of infrastructure, Changsha Olympic Sports Center project, one of the key projects of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Green Core Central Park Phase I, has a total investment of about 9 billion yuan. It covers an area of about 800 mu (53 ha.) and will be equipped with a 60,000-seat international sports stadium, an 18,000-seat comprehensive sports arena, and a 4,000-seat natatorium. It will be a large-scale international sports center in Hunan and a new space for the integrated development of Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan.

The Changsha-Zhuzhou Intercity Railway Zhuzhou section, with a total investment of 13.7 billion yuan, will connect Xingsha Sub-center, Huangxing Sub-center, Changsha Southern Integrated Development Zone, and Zhuzhou downtown area. The mainline of the Changsha-Zhuzhou Intercity Railway is 90.7 kilometers long, with 17 stations. It includes the Zhutang Station-Luositang Station line and the Ma'an Station-Xianfeng Station line.

The expansion project of Yueyang's Longwan-Changsha's Guangfu section along the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, with a total investment of about 10.4 billion yuan, will expand the highway by 79 kilometers, adopting a two-way eight-lane highway standard.

There are also 100 featured advantageous industrial projects, with a total investment of around 298 billion yuan. They include six engineering machinery projects, four rail transit equipment projects, five small and medium-sized aviation engine and aerospace equipment projects, 14 automobile and other equipment manufacturing projects, 11 electronic information projects, 20 new materials projects, 10 new energy and energy conservation and environmental protection projects, 15 biomedical and medical device projects, and 15 textile and light industry projects. For example, the Zhuzhou General Aviation Turboprop Engine Manufacturing Project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, is expected to produce 500 units of small aviation engines every year, with an estimated output value of about 700 million yuan. The Zhuzhou Civil Light Helicopter Manufacturing Project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, is expected to produce 50 helicopters of various types every year after it goes into operation.
