The "Hunan Advanced Manufacturing Industry Enters Hainan Free Trade Port" promotion event, themed "Crossing Mountains and Seas: Bilateral Pursuits", was held in Haikou City, Hainan Province on March 18, 2024.

Bater, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hainan Province, and Zhang Jian, vice chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and chairman of the Hunan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended.

Hunan is known as a manufacturing powerhouse while Hainan is a province that excels in terms of opening up. The two provinces have respective characteristics and advantages in developing advanced manufacturing industry. The Hunan-Hainan Co-constructed Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park is located in Dongfang City, Hainan Province. It is the first of its kind jointly built by a pilot free trade zone and a free trade port, and a strategic project for both sides to deepen regional cooperation and build a hub of opening up.

More than 100 entrepreneurs of over 90 leading advanced manufacturers from Hunan and Hainan provinces, including the Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., the Sany Group, and the Hunan Xiangke Holdings Group Co., Ltd., were present.

The persons in charge of the Industry and Information Technology of Hunan Province, the Hainan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Haikou City Government, introduced and promoted Hunan's advanced manufacturing industry and Hainan's high-tech industry. The Hunan-Hainan Co-constructed Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park and the Hunan and Hainan enterprises such as the Sinoboom, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd., Sunward Starair, Hunan Great Wall Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Jinpan Technology, and GEnx Haikou made presentations respectively.

The activity is another step for both sides to strengthen industrial cooperation and deepen economic and trade exchanges, following the "Hunan Modern Agriculture + New Retail Industrial Chain Entering Hainan Free Trade Port" event in 2023. It aims to build a bridge of friendship, collaboration, and win-win situation for the two provinces.
