The 2023 Smart City Expo World Congress · Changsha Stage will take place at the Hunan International Convention and Exhibition Center (Mango Hall) from October 31 to November 2, according to the Changsha Municipal Data Resources Management Bureau on October 8. The congress will adopt an "online + offline" format to connect representatives from China and the rest of the world, creating a domestic and international exhibition and exchange. It will bring together heads of national and international governments and public management sectors, as well as representatives of the relevant enterprises and research and development centers that provide urban planning, digital technologies and systems. Participants will focus on current hot topics, together contributing ideas for the future development of smart cities, and promoting more cities, related institutions and enterprises for building new exchanges and cooperation.
In recent years, Changsha has thoroughly implemented a people-centered development philosophy, empowered high-quality economic and social development with digitalization and informatization, and focused on establishing itself as a national model and benchmark for new smart cities. The city's digital economy has reached 450 billion yuan, ranking among the new first-tier cities in the digital economy. It has been a leading smart city in China for two consecutive years and was the only winner of the 2022 World Smart City Award · China. Considering the phased results Changsha has achieved in smart city construction, the Smart City Expo World Congress decided to set up the world's only 2023 sub-venue in Changsha. Hence, the Smart City Expo World Congress · Changsha Stage came into being.
During the congress, several special activities will be organized, including theme forums such as the "Cities+AI" Innovation Summit Forum, the release of the 2023 China Open Data Index, the 2023 World Smart City Awards · Award Ceremony China, the launch ceremony of the Smart City Application Scenarios Global Challenge, and a display of smart city construction achievements.
