The 2023 Asia-Pacific Forum on Green and Low-Carbon Development will be held in Changsha on October 20 and 21, according to a press conference of the Information Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government held on August 25.

The Hunan Government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) inked two MOUs on jointly promoting low-carbon technology development and promotion in 2015 and 2021. Since 2016, the two parties have collaborated to host six sessions of the Asia-Pacific Forum on Green and Low-Carbon Development, with the participation of related institutions and organizations from more than 40 countries and regions and the United Nations. The forum has played a crucial role in promoting investment and cooperation in the field of low-carbon technologies, and will be a significant event for showcasing Hunan's development of advanced low-carbon technologies, facilitating exchanges and cooperation, and leading the industrial development.

This session is themed "Transformation and Innovation: Sharing New Opportunities, and Jointly Promoting New Development". There will be two keynote symposiums, ten sub-forums, and trainings on South-South cooperation to tackle climate change and maintain sustainable development. Chinese and foreign governmental departments, international organizations, and leading figures in academic and enterprises circles, will be invited to attend. The participants will discuss comprehensive solutions and share their views and achievements from the perspectives on policies for tackling climate change, carbon pricing and carbon trading market, innovating the financing mechanism, technology innovation, and digital empowerment. These will help boost international exchanges, carry out pragmatic collaboration, make progress in low-carbon technologies, and enhance the dovetailing of projects and capital.
