A press conference for the 2018 “LEOPAARD” Cup First China Youth Artificial Intelligence Robotics Competition and the China Competition of the 9th Asian VEX Robotics Championship were held on October 10, 2018.
The China Competition of the Asian VEX Robotics Championship is the highest level of its kind in mainland China.
The 2018 “LEOPAARD” Cup First China Youth Artificial Intelligence Robotics Competition and the China Competition of the 9th Asian VEX Robotics Championship (VEX Championship) will be held in Yongzhou between October 18 and 21, 2018. More than 2,000 contestants of over 400 outstanding teams from all over the country will join in the event.
The event covers skill competition, popular science education, academic exchange, and industrial development with an open, inclusive, sharing, and mutually beneficial vision. Focusing on the latest achievements in “artificial intelligence plus robotics” innovation and development, it consists of such sectors as robotics contests, forums, and carnival game interactions.
The VEX Championship includes the following groups:
1. College group: ARL college car model and CHR robotics innovation challenge;
2. High school group: VEX-EDR engineering challenge; and,
3. Middle school group: VEX-EDR Engineering Challenge, VEX-IQ Robotics Competition, Self-driving Car Race, Humanoid Robot Mission Challenge, Remote Wheeled Robot Competition, BDS Basketball Game, and UAV Competition;
Each contest has the special jury awards and the championship, first runner-up, and second runner-up. The teams winning the VEX-EDR Engineering Challenge and the VEX-IQ Challenge will be qualified to participate in the 2018-2019 USA VEX Robotics World Championship.
