Furong Tower is a classical garden building, enjoying the reputation
of the "First Tower of Southern Chu." The tower stands as a cultural
landmark where Wang Changling, a renowned poet of the Tang Dynasty and
one of the masters of frontier poetry, hosted banquets and bid farewell
to guests during his exile to Longbiao (today's Qiancheng, Hongjiang
City). The tower's stele corridor serves as a "treasure trove of
calligraphic art," housing over a hundred stone carvings by renowned
masters throughout history, such as the legendary calligraphers Yan
Zhenqing, Huang Tingjian, and Mi Fu. These works hold both artistic and
historical significance.
