Yuhou Street was built in the Qin and Han dynasties, enjoying a history of more than 2,200 years. It is the center of "Nine Streets and Eighteen Alleys" in Chenzhou City, the birthplace of Chenzhou's history and culture, and the most recognizable place displaying the culture of southern Hunan and the characteristics of Chenzhou. At present, Yuhou Street serves as a cultural commercial pedestrian street integrating multiple functions including trade, catering, culture, art tourism, and entertainment. Since its opening in 2013, the street has been successively awarded titles such as the National Urban Central Recreation District, Chenzhou Business Integrity Demonstration Street, 2020 China's Best Cultural Tourism Project, and Hunan Provincial Tourism and Leisure Block.
Covering approximately 120,000 square meters, Yuhou Street in Chenzhou has been recognized as a "Hunan Provincial Nighttime Consumption Demonstration Zone," a "New Business Format and New Scene for Hunan Cultural Tourism Consumption," and a "Hunan Provincial Nighttime Cultural and Tourism Consumption Cluster."
The block currently is home to 323 stores and 181 business entities, with nearly 160 nighttime economy operators that engage in entertainment, dining, cultural creativity, sightseeing, and shopping.
In 2025, the block is included in the fourth batch of national-level tourism and leisure blocks.
