Changsha Ecological Zoo


Changsha Ecological Zoo in Tianxin District, is close to the Furong South Road and the Beltway. It is very convenient since it is located about 30-minute drive away from the downtown of three cities: Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan.

The zoo has the largest collection of pandas (four) in south central China. It is the only zoo and aquarium in Hunan integrating science education, recreation, and entertainment. It is a five-star park, a national science popularization education base, and a national 4A-level scenic spot.The zoo sees a total of 2 million domestic and international tourist trips every day.It is a perfect place for traveling as well as for science education for students.



The zoo is home to a polar park, the largest of its kind in Hunan. The polar park covers a floor area of nearly 6,800 square meters and has two exhibition areas on the first floor, showcasing polar animals and ice sculptures respectively. The park currently has 16 penguins, five sea lions, eight Arctic wolves, and 20 sharks, as well as four polar bear specimens from Canada. Visitors can also watch jellyfish, sea turtles, and other marine life by strolling along a 22-meter-long "undersea tunnel" at the basement level of the park.
