"Changsha Eye" Sightseeing Platform

On August 17, the newly upgraded Changsha Radio and Television Tower made its debut as the "Changsha Eye" sightseeing platform.

The Changsha Radio and Television Tower made its debut as the "Changsha Eye" sightseeing platform.

The Changsha Radio and Television Tower was first built in 1987 as the first comprehensive radio and television tower in Hunan Province. The romance of couples locking "heart-shaped locks" in the observation hall during the early 2000s has become an integral part of the city’s cultural identity. In 2013, the tower was closed due to aging facilities.

At an altitude of 324.5 meters, the "Changsha Eye" offers a three-tiered multi-dimensional cultural and tourism experience, including a ground-level observation platform, a basement-level "culture + technology" sightseeing experience space, an immersive elevator lobby interactive experience, and a 360-degree high-altitude observation hall. Among these, the ground-level observation platform and the basement-level "culture + technology" sightseeing experience space are open to the public free of charge.

Admission is required for the immersive elevator‑lobby interactive experience and the 360‑degree high‑altitude observation hall. The full-price ticket for adults is 48 yuan per person. Special groups, including primary, secondary, and college students; seniors aged 65 and above; people with disabilities; and military personnel, are eligible for a half-price ticket of 24 yuan per person. Residents and visitors can purchase tickets on site by scanning a QR code at the Yuelu Mountain "Changsha Eye" Sightseeing Platform, or book tickets in advance by searching for "Yuelu Mountain Changsha Eye Sightseeing Platform" on online platforms such as Ctrip.

From the high-altitude observation hall, residents and visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Changsha, taking in landmarks such as Yuelu Mountain, Orange Isle, Wuyi Square Business District, and the Meixi Lake International Culture and Arts Center, while feasting their eyes on the magnificent view of the Xiangjiang River.
