Hunan Receives 658 Million Tourist Visits in 2023

The Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism released Hunan's cultural tourism data in 2023 on January 26. Throughout 2023, Hunan received 657.8122 million tourist visits, a year-on-year increase of 51.28%. Of the total, the number of domestic trips rose 51.05% to 656.6913 million; that of inbound trips grew 13.5 times to 1.1209 million. The province's total tourism revenue amounted to 956.518 billion yuan, up by 47.43% year on year. Of the total, the domestic tourism revenue expanded 47.16% to 954.514 billion yuan and the foreign exchange earnings from inbound tourism surged 11.8 times to 290 million USD.
