Zhangjiajie Sees Overseas Market Recovery

On April 6, a delegation of 24 Thai travel agents visited Zhangjiajie National Forest Park at the invitation of Zhangjiajie Tianma International Travel Service. They were enchanted by breathtaking scenery of a sea of clouds and peaks after the rain at Tianzi Mountain and Yuanjiajie Scenic Area.

Zhangjiajie has been a tourist destination favored by Thai people for years. In 2004, Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Zhangjiajie and described it as a "fantasy world". In 2019, nearly 50,000 Thai holidaymakers visited Zhangjiajie. On March 16, 2023, Zhangjiajie held a cultural tourism promotion conference in Bangkok, Thailand since China further optimized the COVID-19 response.

The delegation's visit to Zhangjiajie will definitely play an active role in promoting cultural tourism exchanges between Zhangjiajie and Thailand and expansion of Zhangjiajie's overseas market.

Recently representatives of overseas travel agents from China's Hong Kong and Macao, South Korea and Thailand have visited Zhangjiajie. International flights linking Zhangjiajie with Vietnam, Thailand, and South Korea were scheduled to resume. Therefore, Zhangjiajie will embrace a full recovery in overseas market. Zhangjiajie's tourism industry also sees a robust recovery. As of April 5, 2023, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park received 1.2 million tourist trips, an increase of 40% from 2019 levels and hitting a record high.
