Camellia Oil Made with Traditional Methods

The photo shows workers extracting camellia oil at a workshop in Shangdu Village, Xianglinpu Town, Daoxian County. The workshop houses an ancient wooden oil extraction machine, which has been in use for more than 300 years. Villagers use traditional methods to extract camellia oil, which involve a series of steps: drying seeds, grinding powder, making camellia seed cakes, pressing the cakes, and going through a precipitation filtration process. Finally, the golden tea oil is supplied to local markets and helps farmers increase income. (Photo/Jiang Keqing)
