The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway, with the most underground railway stations nationwide, officially started operation on Dec. 26, 2016. Ticket selling started from 8:00 am on Dec. 25, as was announced by Guangzhou Railway (Group) Corporation on Dec. 25, 2016.
The following sixteen stations are opening for passenger service now, namely, Changsha Railway Station, Shumuling Station, Xiangzhang Road Station, Xiangfu Road Station, Dongjing Station, Xianfeng Station, Furongnan Station, Muyun Station, Jiulangshan Station, Tianxindong Station, Dafeng Station, Zhuzhounan Railway Station, Zhaoshan Station, Hetang Station, Bantang Station, and Xiangtan Railway Station.
28 and 34 pairs of EMU trains ( with a capitalized letter C on ) designed for intercity line are arranged to set off at normal and peak hours respectively during the initial operation stage. The way to buy tickets for the intercity rail is the same as other CRH trains: either via www. 12306. cn or ticket windows opened by railway stations. There is no need for passengers to take the seat according to the ticket number since the train will operate in the public transportation mode. In other words, passengers can take any vacant seat on the train.
One train will be arranged to set off each hour every day during the initial operation stage. More will be scheduled next. The public transport operation mode will therefore be gradually realized.
In the primary operation stage, 34 pairs of EMU trains have been arranged by the National Railway Administration to set off during peak periods, with 15 pairs assigned to Zhuzhounan and 19 pairs to Xiangtan; while 28 pairs are set off at the normal time, with 12 pairs assigned to Zhuzhounan and 16 pairs to Xiangtan.
1. Please arrive at Intercity Railway Station at least 15 minutes ahead of departure, to ensure plentiful time for security check, checking in, and walking to the train.
2.Train toilets can be found at the first and eighth compartments.
3. Smoking is prohibited on trains.
Once someone is smoking, the smoke sensors will make an alarm, which will lead to the train slowing down or even stopping. According to regulations, when causing serious consequences, the smokers will be fined and detained.
4. Luggage carriers are equipped.
There is no large luggage depository on trains, while pothooks and baggage holders are equipped to place small luggage.
5. Pets are not permitted on trains.
