The first batch of five CRH6F trains for the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway arrived in Changsha recently, counting down to the opening of the railway.

Upon the operation of the intercity railway, the travel time between Changsha and Zhuzhou, and Changsha and Xiangtan, will be shortened to about 30 minutes.

The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway project invited for bids of five CRH6F train units this August. The CRH6F trains were tailored for the intercity railway, to meet the needs for quick starting and stop, quick boarding and off, large traffic volume, and frequent stops. It can carry about 2000 passengers.

Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway, Hunan’s first intercity railway connecting Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan cities, is 95.5 km long. This passenger dedicated line is designed for an average speed of 200 km/hour, but will run at 160 km/hour at initial phase. 24 stations were set along the line, among which 17 will be open by the end of this year.
