Recently, a total of 26 tonnes of freshly harvested Nanyue Yunwu tea from Hengnan County, Hunan Province, passed customs inspection by the Hengyang Customs Authority and were scheduled to be shipped to Russia and Malaysia. This shipment marked the first export of Nanyue Yunwu tea as a self-owned brand.
To fulfill the orders, workers were busy producing the newly harvested tea at the tea processing workshop of Hunan Hengyang Tea Import and Export Trade Co., Ltd. According to the head of the company, Nanyue Yunwu tea is recognized as a national geographical indication product. The tea has a bright, tender liquor with a rich, mellow aroma.
The export orders this time were secured through both offline trade fairs and online platforms, with an estimated annual export volume of 400 tonnes this year.
Since the beginning of this year, the Changsha Customs Authority has actively leveraged the leading role of tea export demonstration bases, assisting Hunan's 13 major tea-producing counties in establishing high-standard tea export demonstration bases. These tea export bases have achieved an average profit of 34,000 CNY per mu (about 0.067 hectares).
From January to April, Hunan exported 19,600 tonnes of tea worth 379 million CNY, marking year-on-year increases of 54.1% and 48.9%, respectively.
