Rail Transit Industry International Summit China (Zhuzhou) 2016

 

The Rail Transit Industry International Summit China (Zhuzhou) 2016 was held in Zhuzhou from Nov. 26 to 27, 2016.

 

Co-organized by the CRRC Corporation and the People’s Government of Zhuzhou City, the summit was aimed at pushing forward expansion of rail transit industry and further elevating the reputation, influence, and competitiveness of Zhuzhou in the global rail transportation industry. Based on Zhuzhou's characteristics, the global vision built, and the theme on "integration, innovation, and win-win achievements", the summit was dedicated to bringing together global industrial wisdom and creating an important platform for rail transportation industry clusters to cooperate and communicate.

 

 

The Rail Transit Industry International Summit China (Zhuzhou) 2016 concluded on November 27. At the concluding discussion, academicians focused on how to develop Zhuzhou rail transit industrial cluster, based on Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan integration.

  

Former Railways Minister and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) Fu Zhihuan, urged Zhuzhou to take advantages of the national and global rail transit boom, fuel its rail transit industry progress, and speed up construction of a rail transit-centered city. Zhuzhou is expected to be a competitive and influential world center for electric traction, and also, the world’s rail transit capital.

 

“We need to develop green and intelligent rail transit technology, in addition to pursuing high-speed and heavy-load results”, said Liu Youmei, academician of the CAE and the expertise committee director of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. Chang-Zhu-Tan area would be built into a “Global Rail Transit Museum”, with Tianxin as the core to be a “Global Rail Transit Wonderland”, so as to make the rail transit industry a glorious symbol of Zhuzhou in the global arena.

 

Zhuzhou has four CRRC subsidiaries, namely Zhuzhou Locomotive, Zhuzhou Institute, Zhuzhou Electric, and CRRC Investment Holding, and more than 300 rail transit equipment manufactures. A national key laboratory on electric traction and control and other 22 provincial or above level institutions technologically support research and development. A complete industrial chain integrating product development, manufacturing, after service, and logistics has taken shape. Zhuzhou as a No.1 supplier of electronic locomotives and relevant products in global market, have entered into over 70 countries and regions.

China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Expo and High-speed Rail Economic Forum 2016

 

 

The China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Expo and High-speed Rail Economic Forum 2016 commenced on November 28, 2016. A batch of rail transit magnates brought their cutting-edge technology and products to the three-day expo, showcasing China’s remarkable achievements in rail transit industry.

 

The exhibition area covers an area of over 40,000 square meters, composing of three halls. Hundreds of enterprises of rail transit industry and related sectors, including CRRC, China Metro Group, SANY, and Zoomlion, were presented with their latest products and technology. CRRC, China’s largest rail transit equipment manufacturer, together with its subsidiaries including Zhuzhou Locomotive and Zhuzhou Institute, exhibited rail fastening, traction, and power supply systems for EMUs (electric multiple units). A series of EMU, metro, and maglev vehicle models were also displayed.

“Changsha is witnessing a golden age for rail transit and high-speed rail development,” said Yi Lianhong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee. Changsha’s engineering machinery and Zhuzhou’s electric locomotive are complementary from the perspective of industrial development. Changsha, with huge potential in rail transit and high-speed rail economy, will take this opportunity to exchange views with the world in terms of technology, achievements, and industrial trend, and seek for more cooperation.

Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Acting Governor of Hunan Province Xu Dazhe met in Changsha with CRRC President Xi Guohua on the morning of Nov. 27, 2016, who came to attend the “Rail Transit Industry International Summit 2016” and the “China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Expo and High Speed Rail Economic Forum 2016”.

 

Xu introduced that Hunan’s emerging industries including rail transit, electronic information, bio-medicine, and new energy vehicles have witnessed rapid development in recent years, contributing a lot to the steady growth and structural adjustment and transformation of the province. CRRC is the world's leading rail transportation equipment manufacturer, Xu said, expecting that the corporation will continue to expand project layout in Hunan with plentiful capital, accumulated innovative resources, and accelerated establishment of rail transit and other national innovation centers, so as to enhance the independent innovation capability and manufacturing ability of the province, and aid its building of a world well-known rail transportation industry cluster.

 

Xi thanked Hunan for its long-term support to the CRRC. He promised to promote new projects concerning such industries as rail transit, urban infrastructure construction, new materials, and modern services in Hunan, based on its sound development foundation in the province. The corporation will help Hunan to build a high-end equipment manufacturing industrial cluster in the future, he added.

The China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Expo and High-speed Rail Economic Forum 2016 commenced on the morning of Nov. 28, 2016. High-speed Rail Economic Forum Held in Changsha

 

 

 

China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Expo 2016 kicked off at Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center on Nov. 28. The First High-speed Rail Economic Forum was held on that afternoon. 7 experts and scholars in high-speed rail sector, based on the commercial operation of high-speed rail in China over the past eight years, probed into hot issues such as innovation of high-speed rail technology and the impact of high-speed rail on economy.

 

Executive Vice President of China Communication and Transportation Association Wang Derong delivered a speech titled “Impacts of High-speed Rail on China’s Economy”. Wang stated that people’s demands for high-quality travel are increasingly growing as the level of consumption has been improving. Accelerating high-speed rail development is an important way to optimize China’s passenger transport structure and meet passenger transport demand with minimal energy and resources consumption and environmental costs. The development of high-speed rail will boost China’s urbanization and city cluster construction, promote manufacturing advancement, and help China’s high-speed rail industry go global.

 

“Ensuring safe operation is the premise during the rapid development of high-speed rail,” said Zheng Jian, member of leading Party group of the Ministry of Railways.

 

High-speed rail exerts great influences on industries such as tourism. Former Director of the National Tourism Administration of China Shao Qiwei suggested that travel routes along high-speed railway should be developed to support and promote poverty alleviation through tourism.

The Technical Symposium on Sustainable Development of Chinese Urban Rail Transit 2016 were held in Changsha on Nov. 27, 2016. Over 500 experts and representatives from research institutions across the country, subway corporations of various cities, rail transit enterprises and service providers gathered here to probe into technologies for urban rail transit development.
