Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (XEMC)

Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd (XEMC), formerly known as the Central Electrical Equipment Factory, was founded in 1936. During the "1st Five-Year Plan" period (1953-1957), it was included in the national 156 key construction projects. In 1999, it consolidated key assets from its main business to set up the Xiangtan Electric Machinery Co., Ltd. The company went listed in July 2002 (XEMC 600416), becoming the first listed company in Hunan Province under the approval system and the first listed company in Xiangtan City. XEMC now owns total assets worth 15.2 billion yuan, with four wholly-owned subsidiaries, three holding subsidiaries, and seven shareholding companies. The group has 12 functional departments, and more than 5,000 employees are currently on duty.

XEMC is a large backbone enterprise in China's electrical industry. It is a national key technology equipment localization research base, national high-tech industrial base, and national innovative enterprise approved by the State Council. It mainly serves China's electric power, energy, mining, transportation, chemical engineering, light industry, water conservancy, and other construction projects. It has played a leading role in national development and application of large-scale equipment, complete sets of electrical equipment, large-scale water pumps, and megawatt wind power generation equipment, gradually forming a core business cluster of "motor + electronic control + electromagnetic energy".

The group boasts the title as the "cradle of mechanical and electrical products in China". Its leading products R&D has always been in the forefront of the industry, winning one national gold medal, 5 grand prizes, 9 first prizes, and 12 second prizes of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, one China Grand Award for Industry, and more than 70 ministerial and provincial invention and innovation awards. It has undertaken more than 30 projects of "863 Program", "973 Program", national science and technology support projects, and key engineering projects. It has presided over and participated in the formulation or revision of more than 200 national industrial standards, making outstanding contributions to the localization of China's major technical equipment.
